Coalition to Invest $500,000 to Redevelop Pole Depot Community Centre
Liberal candidate for Banks, David Coleman, and Shadow Minister for Communications and Broadband, the Hon. Malcolm Turnbull MP, today announced $500,000 for the Pole Depot Community Centre at Penshurst.
Mr Coleman said the much-needed funding would help Pole Depot redevelop its facilities in order to expand the services it provides to the local community.
“I am delighted to announce that a Coalition Government, if elected, would make this significant investment in such an important local institution,” Mr Coleman said.
“Pole Depot is an integral part of the local community, providing childcare and education services, seniors’ activities, English classes for people from non-English speaking backgrounds, as well as transport for community groups.
“The Coalition is committed to enhancing community life in Banks and across Australia and we have the proven economic track record that will enable us to provide this funding.”
Mr Turnbull said the $500,000 investment was part of the Coalition’s plan for stronger and safer communities.
“Organisations like Pole Depot are the cornerstone of local communities across Australia,” Mr Turnbull said.
“They help foster a sense of belonging in communities, providing support for those who need it and promoting social interaction.
“I would like to congratulate Pole Depot for the wonderful work it does in the local community and commend Mr Coleman for fighting hard for this funding. He would be a first-class MP and provide a strong voice in Canberra for the residents of Banks.”
